This GIVS symposium marks the start of close collaboration between two institutions in Kansai, Japan: The Value Research Center (VRC) at Doshisha University and the ESG-Integration Research and Education Center (ESG-IREC) at the Osaka School of International Public Policy, Osaka University, supported by the International Academic Forum. The activities of VRC and ESG-IREC are cross-sectoral and inter-disciplinary; academic-business and academic-public policy sector collaboration will be key. To make our work meaningful and effective in promoting ESG evaluation and educating current and future leaders in this critical area of private-public cooperation, support from the private sector is key.
